Cement tiles and terrazzo flooring have been part of Iamart’s product range since the very beginning. While cement tiles were once clearly at the top of the popularity list in Hungary, our terrazzo flooring, which caters to both traditional and contemporary interior design needs, the various types of terrazzo flooring is now the undisputed focus of attention.

Iamart offers a wide variety of terrazzo flooring options. At the manufactory we cast small-format (200x200mm, 250x250mm) octagonal and hexagonal terrazzo tiles, while the small- or large-grain terrazzo known as Venetian terrazzo, which forms a continuous surface, is produced on-site.
In terms of manufacturing technology, terrazzo tiles are made from a mixture of ground natural, dense limestone and marble in appropriate proportions. This mixture is added to a cementitious binder, which can be further colored with oxide pigments. The color effect is achieved partly through the natural color of the stone material and partly through the addition of pigments. The layers of small-element terrazzo tiles produced in the workshop are made in reverse order: the paste-like, granular mixture is first poured into a mold divided into compartments according to the pattern; this becomes the later so-called “wearing layer.”
The flooring is produced without firing; the layers are pressed together, followed by the slabs’ hydrating, water-based post-treatment, and finally, polishing.
Fine-grained, coarse-grained, factory-made, cast on site
Fine-grained terrazzo flooring is typically found in the original flooring of historic and heritage buildings in Hungary, designed at the turn of the century. Throughout its many years of operation and thanks to client requests, Iamart has consistently placed great emphasis on developing the raw materials and manufacturing technology for terrazzo flooring.
Today, Iamart is a leading player in the reproduction and restoration of historic terrazzo flooring in Hungary.
Unique, project-specific
While small-particle terrazzo typically meets the needs of historic buildings and, less frequently, public and residential spaces, the fine-grained Lixio® and the Lixio®+ monolithic terrazzo, which contains larger aggregates, offer contemporary architectural solutions.

A major advantage of fine-grained microterrazzo is its minimal material thickness.
This innovation has made seamless flooring accessible even for projects where installation with thicker materials is not feasible. Microterrazzo is also weather-resistant and easy to clean. The elegant surface is equally suitable for residential spaces, high-traffic commercial spaces, educational institutions, hotels, and museum spaces.
Lixio®+ monolithic terrazzo is primarily cast on-site indoors at traditional thicknesses.
This reimagining of traditional Venetian terrazzo embodies classic elegance and exceptional durability.
When crafting our terrazzo flooring, we strive to use high-quality aggregates from domestic quarries; in other cases, depending on the project and the designer’s requirements, we recommend the use of various types of fine marble chips.
In addition to the permanent collection featured on the Iamart website, all of the manufacturer’s terrazzo flooring options can be customized to suit individual preferences and project requirements.
