our story

IAMART was founded to craft, design and sell cement-mosaic tiles that bring back the style and the sense of taste of the 19th century. With the use of traditional techniques and practices we are able to reproduce tiles that greatly resemble the original, old-fashioned pieces of the period.

We started operating as a PLC in 2005 by trading cement tiles, manufactured abroad in Andalusia, Spain. In 2015 the management structure of the company was redesigned. Our main aim became to locally manufacture our own products, made from unique materials with a well-defined colour scheme.

Our final product is the result of continuous experimenting and testing for nearly one and a half year. This process has enabled us to significantly improve both the material and the colour design of regular cement tiles. Our objective is to create new and innovative design in addition to the existing ones. Production takes place in Csepel Művek. Step inside our showroom and gain insight into the manufacturing process, or take part in one of our workshop sessions to get a more profound understanding of the creative side of cement tile manufacturing.

the manufacturing process

The two-layered cement tiles consist of Portland cement, gravel, marble dust and natural mineral pigments. The tiles are being produced by using traditional artisan techniques, adapted to the modern technical specifications.

For each design we use individual and unique mould which is the base of the actual design, topped with a solid layer. Once the moulding process is complete, the layers undergo intense pressure in the cement tile press machine.

In order to achieve the adequate strength and durability, before packaging, the cement tiles are left to cure and harden in the right temperature.
